The GA1 Social Network

I have Glutaric Aiduria Type 1. I want to welcome you to my Glutaric Aiduria Type 1 site. I have GA1. I don't let it get me down. My name is Josh and I am 18 years old. I made this websie to show people it is not as bad as it looks. Now I am going to tell you a little about myself. I don't know that much about the Glutaric Aiduria Type 1. I was 22 months old when I first got sick because my protein was too high and it poisoned my nervous system and I went to Pittsbugh, Pa. I go to pittsbugh every 4 years now. Here is some things I have read about. Is a girl named Allison, she is 7 years old and has ga1, which is also Glutaric Aciduria Type 1. She got this when she was about 7 months old. I really enjoyed reading Allison story. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. She has an electric wheelchair and she loves it. I haven't talked to her dad yet but on his page he told how she love's it. Now back to ga1. Their is not many cases of ga1. Their is many different effects of ga1. You may be asking how I do in school. I have a fifth grade reading level. I have an aid with me all day. My G.P.A. on my report of 4.0 I am in the 12 grade. So I have passed all of my classes. I have a special Math and a special English class. I could not eat whatever I wanted when ever I first started school. My mom had to measure my food so I would not get sick again. I was on a low protien diet. It was a low lysine, low tryptophan diet. But now the doctors say my body can tolerate the protien, so I'm no longer on any kind of diet. I have me an electric wheelchair jazzy and I have fun and I love it. It is candy apple red and the jazzy has a horn. I used it to go out around the house.

UPDATE 2002 I had my high school graduation. I am now looking forward to college. I am not sure what college I am going to. My mom has to take me to get my A.C.T test for college. I am now at home Just being a kid or a teenager. I have been looking and talking to more people with GA1 on the net. There is a lot more people with it now. I like having GA1 becouse I get to help people and they enjoy me helping them. One of my GA1 friends died in May but not due to GA1. You will have to go read about it on her page. Her name is Allison. I talk alot about her on my introduction page. Me and her dad is like best friend on the net. Now for somemore of GA1 friends. A boy named Matt and his family came to my school in 2001 just to see me and my school. Matt has GA1 and was in the football team at his school. Thats cool to me becouse I could never be in any teams. I am doing good I am going to try to be a webmaster after I get in college. Maybe I will put more picture of me on my site You can chat with me on my site now.

Updates 2004 My name is Josh, I am 19 and I am going to collage I took my A.C.T test, I did so good on it that I can go to collage as long as I want to. The collage I am going to is W.VA REHABILITATION CENTER. That collage is so cool. I may get a masters in computers. I went to tour it on the 18th of february of 2004. They will help me live on my own and get a job. You can go look at it on my links page. I like it alot and I can do good and get my masters. That is something I always wanted to do.

Updates 2005 I just wanted to put some updates on here to let you know whats going on. 1st thing The school I was going didn't put me in the class that I was going for instead they put me in jantorial class and had a job in jantorial besides the class work and they put in the goodwill store class and they put me in lifeskills class so I got some work experience. 2nd thing They voted me out of jantorial class and said that I couldn't do 80% of the work becouse I might fall and get hurt but I felt that I could do all the they gave me But they sent me home and that was it.

Updates 2005 I just wanted to let you know how I am doing. I am doing good I am sad o be out of school and to leave all of my friends down at rehab. We was like a family we call our self the rehab family. But all and all I am doing good. But I am still looking for jobs and stuff to do to make cash. I will update again when when ever I fine a job.

update 2006 My brithday haha!!! it was good I am 22 now so its cool. I have my own place that I started renting in 2005. I have a roomate that helps me out with bills and thing. I am doing good all and all.

Upadates 2006 I am doing good with GA1. I don't have a job like I want but I do own part of a home My cousin own's the other part so it'sm cool. I am writing a book now I can't say when it will be out. I have pic's all over the net now that you can see. Thank you for reading.

I am 23 on March 20th and I am loving it. I have done a lot for GA1 and other disorders and I like doing it I helped passed a bill for newborn testing that will pick up more disorders. I was there when they passed it. You can read about it on my homepage. I met a girl in my town named Cady she has PA she is cool. I also met a boy from Charleston named Max he has CAH he is cool also you can find out more about these kids by going to my support page and emailing them or calling their mothers. I can't think of anymore to write right now so later.

Updates 2009 Let me start out by saying that I am my site got moved again I lost my old site it was sold. I am find I am sorry I haven't up date this site in a year but I been working on a new site called jkmspace.com It's neat go check it out. In 2007 I helped get a bill passed for new born testing for diffent disorders that was neat too I got to be in Charleston for the signing of the bill. Well I think thats it for now.

Later update in 2009 I am 25 years old now turned 25 March 20th I am so happy I am still working on my book should have it done by the end of this year I will update again later.



Update March 26 2010 I am 26 now guys I been working a lot of  things I am still doing very good. Still working on that book of mine so its not done yet sorry. I am working on a GA1 site called JKMSPACE its a GA1  knowledge based and a social network site.
