]]>Thu, 8 Jul 2010 02:31:31 GMT Hi Josh, My name is Lori.  I saw your invite through the OAA group.  My nephew, Tucker, was diagnosed with GA 1 last year.  He just had his first birthday a couple of weeks ago.  I am excited to see a young man who is trying to increase the awareness of GA 1, because it is such a rare type of acidemia.  My nephew is very lucky.  Our family did not know that we carry the gene for GA 1, but Tucker was born in a state that had recently added GA 1 to their newborn screenings.  He was the youngest baby they had ever diagnosed (he was 4 days old).  Because of this early diagnosis, he has not suffered any of the ill effects that the disorder can cause, as far as we can tell at this point in his life.  I would love to hear more about the book you are doing.  Thanks!
